In my attempt to select the best spring for Street and Autocross I tryed to identify the stock spring rates for the WS6 with a Pontiac400. The Federal Mogul spring book which lists Moog and TRW lists the stock Firebird spring at 337 lbs/in (?), stock T/A at 355 (model #5006) and a Heavy Duty spring at 399 lbs/in (model # CS590). I want to lower the front about 1 inch and stiffen up the rate to prevent bottom out on the street but not overly stiff for some ride quality, probably a 500 lbs/in spring.

Guldstrand Motorsports 818.558.1499 Since the early 1960's Dick Guldstrand has been a recognized leader in Corvette and Camaro chassis and suspension design worldwide. The tech recomended the GT spring for a big block with the Bilstein shocks for ride on the Street and Slalom/ Autocross. He would not divulge the rate, but said they were stiffer than the MOOG 399 lbs/in but softer than the Slalom big block, which is softer than the Hotchkiss at 620 lbs/in.
